COMAR, INC. increases production capacity for the Comar Oral Dispenser (COD®) product line!
Buena, New Jersey (November 9, 2007) - Comar Incorporated - a leading designer and manufacturer of liquid dispensing products and plastic packaging solutions serving the pharmaceutical, diagnostic, health and personal care markets, announced today that it has expanded the production capacity for its 1, 3, 5 and 10ml oral dispenser product line. This has been done to meet increasing demand for the COD (Comar Oral Dispenser) ®. As a consequence, there has been an immediate and significant reduction in lead times for these liquid dosing devices. And with the addition of new molds by the first quarter of 2008, the goal is to achieve 4 to 6 week lead times. Concurrently, with expansion in print capacity, Comar can quickly respond to demands for custom calibrations to meet emerging requirements for “proper liquid dosing” in the pediatric markets.
This expansion comes as a result of investing in a new printing, assembly and packaging line, additional molds and 2 all electric injection presses. The new assembly line is now operational and new tools and injection presses will be added in early 2008. According to Mike Ruggieri, recently appointed as President of Comar, “the expansion of our oral dispenser capacity comes at a critical time, supporting the increasing needs for proper liquid dosing in the pediatric OTC market. Our commitment is to inspect 100% of the devices for quality, seal integrity and print-calibration accuracy. Our flexibility enables customization of calibrations, logos and instructions, positioning us to meet critical market requirements”.
Investing in the COD® production line is part of a significant investment plan, to upgrade and expand Comar’s existing plastics manufacturing facilities in Buena, New Jersey. Seven new presses have been purchased already in 2007, including 5 injection and 2 injection blow mold machines. An additional focus of the capital investment will be the inclusion of new technologies to streamline and control processes, improving product quality.
Mike Ruggieri said; “Many of the new presses are fully electric machines. We are one of the first US molders to operate commercially available, fully electric injection blow molding presses. This technology will provide for more efficient and cleaner operations, supporting our customer’s continued requirement for higher quality products.”
