COMAR INC. COMPLETES ISO 9001:2008 CERTIFICATION PROCESS FOR CAYEY, PUERTO RICO FACILITY
Comar Inc., a leading manufacturer of plastic pharmaceutical dispensers and packaging, was recently awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification for their facility in Cayey, Puerto Rico.
The Cayey facility underwent a pre-assessment audit in early February and successfully completed the certification audit in April of this year. The relatively short certification process was a direct result of Comar’s already well developed quality system.
Comar’s commitment to ISO certification reinforces its model for a systematic approach to managing the organization’s manufacturing processes. Adherence to ISO standards also allows Comar to consistently meet customer quality standards and business expectations.
Since its acquisition from Unicon, the Cayey facility has been undergoing an integration of critical processes as it becomes part of the Comar Inc. organization. With completion of ISO certification and a formal name change from “Unicon a Comar Company” to Comar Inc., the Cayey facility has taken the next step in the integration process. ISO certification throughout the organization allows Comar to offer redundant manufacturing capabilities that ensure the product qualities demanded by its customers, the largest pharmaceutical and health care companies in the world.
